Travel Advice

Advice for travellers is given by the Practice Nurses, particularly for those travelling far afield. All travel immunisations can be given - if possible do allow plenty of time before travelling to start your course of immunisations. In some cases the full cost of the course of immunisations has to be borne by the patient; with others the patient pays the cost of the prescription. The Practice Nurses will be able to advise you regarding these charges.

UK Travel Advice

If you should be unfortunate enough to become ill whilst on holiday within the UK and need a doctor away from home please register as a temporary patient only, otherwise your full notes would be transferred to your temporary doctor, causing difficulty when you next visit your doctor here.

Adult Immunisation

INFLUENZA immunisation every Autumn is recommended for the elderly and those on a disease register such as a COPD, heart disease etc.

Non-NHS Services

Certain medical examinations and certificates are not covered by the NHS and a special fee is charged. These include driving medicals (HGV, PSV and elderly), sports medicals, life assurance and employment medicals. These examinations cannot be carried out in normal surgery appointments and patients are asked to tell the receptionist if these are required. A charge is made for completing and signing claim forms for private health insurance and is in line with the BMA-recommended rate.
